Team member spotlight: Scott Redpath

We’re delighted to introduce you to Scott Redpath, our System Support Analyst, who has been an invaluable member of our team since October 2023.

We recently asked him about his achievements, his professional journey and his day-to-day responsibilities. Find out what Scott had to share with us below:

Can you share where you began and your experience before joining the Net-Defence team?

Before embarking on my IT career, I built a background in the hospitality and retail sectors. My experiences in these customer-facing roles provided me with valuable communication and problem-solving skills.

Recognising a passion for technology, I spent the last two years retraining to work in the IT sector through a self-study program. This journey of transformation reflects my dedication to personal and professional growth, as I wanted to align my career with my interests in technology.

What milestones, qualifications, and certifications have you achieved during your time at Net-Defence?

Recently, I led a project focused on updating firmware to address and prevent potential vulnerabilities, showcasing my commitment to enhancing our security measures.

Additionally, I have achieved the CompTIA CYSA+ qualification, a highly regarded cyber security certification that equips professionals with the skills to identify and mitigate threats. I’ve also earned the CompTIA A+ certification, which is designed for IT technicians, which helped to improve my technical expertise.

What motivated you to join Net-Defence?

I was drawn to Net-Defence for several reasons, but I truly value the company’s commitment to supporting and caring for its clients and employees.

One of the standout aspects of working at Net-Defence is the opportunity for specialisation in various sectors, particularly in network.

What does your day-to-day role look like at Net-Defence?

In my daily role as a System Support Analyst, I handle a variety of responsibilities that keep our systems running smoothly. I work on support tickets to assist users, ensuring their IT needs are met efficiently. I also participate in on-site visits to our Stirling locations, collaborating with the team to provide hands-on support. As the first point of contact for telecoms tickets, I am there to deliver solutions to our clients as quickly as I can.

In addition to my responsibilities at work, I take it upon myself to prioritise self-study to continuously develop my skills. This commitment to learning strengthens my capabilities and prepares me for future opportunities. I am pleased to be contributing to our mission of providing exceptional IT support and security solutions.

We take great pride in Scott’s achievements so far and want to thank him for his steadfast commitment to Net-Defence. We are excited to continue supporting him as he grows and excels in his position.
