In October 2022, a building fire late into the evening caused extensive damage and total loss of infrastructure.
We were contacted about this incident and whilst CRGP worked with the fire brigade, police, and insurers, we came up with a plan to get them back online. This is not something they initially expected as it was not part of their IT support package.
In less than 8 hours CRGP’s key applications and systems were up and running, and within 48 hours systems the company was 100% fully functional. More than 99% of the company’s data had been recovered and employees were back online and working.
We had previously implemented an off-premise, cloud-based backup solution, and this allowed us to recover from the company’s backup to their hardware and host the infrastructure from our secure server room in Gateshead.
CRGP were delighted that they were fully operational and ready to start work again on the Monday morning after the fire. The support we provided went above and beyond CRGP’s expectations and allowed them to focus on business priorities knowing their IT was in safe hands.
After this incident, CRGP have continued with infrastructure as a hosted solution, which has removed the risk of this type of incident and has allowed them to become more flexible with their working environment. We have continued to use the cloud backup solution, as this has proved to be invaluable to CRGP.
